We’re ready to welcome customers back!

From Wednesday 2nd December 2020 all Pulman showrooms will re-open to the public for new and used car sales.  You can return to browse our new SEAT, SKODA and Volkswagen range plus we have a huge selection of Approved Used Cars across the Pulman Group.

We are following the Government guidelines to ensure the safety of our staff, customers, and community. All our safety measures remain in place as we continue to operate in a Covid-Secure manner. We respectfully request that customers wear a face-covering whilst in the showrooms in line with the Government guidance.

Service & Parts Department

Our Service & Parts Departments, as they have been during lockdown 2, remain fully open for all your aftersales requirements including routine servicing and MOT’s.

We are unable at this time to offer showroom waiting appointments.

Government requirements:

 It is mandatory for all customers to wear face coverings when entering a Pulman showroom (unless you are exempt for health reasons).

All customer-facing Pulman staff will also be required to wear face coverings at all times.

All Pulman staff working behind the scenes will be required to wear a mask if the 2-metre social distancing cannot be maintained.

All customers who enter a Pulman showroom without an appointment will be required to share their contact details for track and trace. There is a log book at the entrance of every Pulman Showroom or alternatively you can log your visit through the NHS Track and Trace app by scanning the Pulman QR code at the entrance.

We will ask customers to continue social distancing throughout their visit by a minimum of 2-metres.

Pulman Covid-19 Update – November

In light of the latest Government announcement on 31st October, please see below what Pulman Group are doing from Thursday 5th November 2020 when the second lockdown in England begins.

Priority number one is the health and wellbeing of our customers, employees and the community. We are therefore adhering to the advice from the UK Government and are closely monitoring the developments and updates on a regular basis.

From Thursday 5th November 2020 all Pulman branches will be open for your servicing and parts requirements. Our service departments will be open as usual and our parts departments will offer a click and collect service.

Our sales departments will be able to provide a Click and Collect service for both new, used and Motability cars.

Workshops are open

All Pulman workshops are open for routine servicing, MOT and warranty work by appointment only.

We are still currently offering service customers the ability to book a courtesy car in advance. Unfortunately, at the moment we are not offering any lifts or collect and deliveries.

We are unable at this time to offer showroom waiting appointments.

We are able serve counter sales at our Parts reception. Customers will be required to wear a mask and log with track and trace on arrival.

The new Volkswagen ID.3 is now available to order and test drive at Pulman Volkswagen in Durham and Sunderland. However, instead of offering our standard test drive time slots, which have been reduced due to COVID-19, we are offering customers the chance to test drive the ID.3 for 24 hours!

Why are you offering a longer test drive duration?

We know that it can be a little daunting deciding whether you want to fully switch to an electric car just yet. For many, electric vehicles (EV) are still a thought for the future and not now, but in the coming months and years more and more electric cars will be on our roads.

There are still many questions drivers would like to know about electric cars, such as what happens if I run out of electric miles. In a nutshell, you’d treat your EV like you would a petrol/diesel car, if you notice you’re running low on miles, head to your closest EV charging station. Many petrol stations, service stations and supermarkets have electric charging bays, but there are many apps out there to help find your closest charging station. New SEAT Leon e-HYBRID: 36 Miles of Electric Range

The new SEAT Leon e-HYBRID has arrived and is now is available to order from Pulman SEAT in Sunderland. The new Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) can travel up to 36 miles* on pure electric power before switching to the petrol engine. Let’s take a look at some of the key features below.

Electric Range & Power

The new Leon e-HYBRID is capable of travelling up to 36 miles with zero CO2 emissions before the petrol engine starts. Combine both the electric and petrol engine together and you’re looking at a total of around 497 mile range*.

Now when you think of your daily commute to and from work, it will be more than likely less than 36 miles so you’ll not be spending any money on petrol. However, if your daily commute is more than 36 miles, think of the savings across the year if you’re using 180 miles less of petrol each week!

The new e-HYBRID engine combines a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine with a 13 kWh battery and electric motor for a total output of 201bhp and travels 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds.

Charging

You’ll not be short of options to charge the new Leon e-HYBRID. When you’ve used your electric miles, the petrol engine kicks in and uses Regenerative Braking to charge the electric motor, giving you the freedom to power up when you’re out on the road.

You also have the option to charge the Leon PHEV at home using a wallbox or charging station. Using the Type 2 Inlet  and the 3.6kW on-board charger, means a full charge will take around 4 hours.

Golf 8 Performance models are open for order on the 24th September

The highly anticipated Golf 8 Performance cars which include: GTI, GTD and the GTE are now open for order from Thursday 24 September, following in the successful launch of Golf 8 Life, Style and R-Line.

The Golf GTI returns for its eighth generation with all its iconic features such as the Jacara cloth seats with red stitching, a sporty exterior with red accents in the front grille, and a 2.0-litre TSI engine producing 245PS which is available with both a manual and DSG gearbox.

This powerful setup means the Golf GTI accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds for the manual and 6.2 seconds for the DSG.

Golf 8 GTE

The latest generation of the Golf GTE builds on the success of the previous model, giving customers a sporty drive and style from a plug-in hybrid.

The GTE has a new power unit this time around, which has a combined power output of 245PS –  the same as the GTI. Not only does the new performance get the blood pumping, with acceleration from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds, but the GTE benefits from an all-electric range of 32 miles under WLTP. Exterior and interior styling is similar to the GTI but with blue accents throughout.

The best performance diesel is back in the form of the Golf GTD. It features an all-new 2.0-litre TDI engine, delivering 200PS and 400nm of torque – the same level of torque as the Golf 7.5 R. Technical details will be available when it’s open for order.

Planning your visit.

To maintain social distancing within the showrooms we ask for our customers to book a timed appointment for service and test drive enquiries.

We are accepting walk ins for sales; in these instances, we would ask the customer to fill in the track and trace logbook at the entrance or by using the NHS Track and Trace app.

 

Digitally Open.

For those who prefer to stay at home for now, there are many ways to view and experience our products online.

Live Video Appointments: you can now book a live video appointment with one of our Client Sales Advisors, to show you around the car and answer any questions you may have. Have your questions answered live from the comfort of your own home.

Reserve: you can reserve a used car online for only £99. This is completely refundable.

Appointments – Sales and Service.

In order to ensure the safety of staff and customer we will be operating a contactless approach during appointments where possible.

Service appointments.
We ask you to arrive at the time of your appointment and also to be wearing a face covering. We have staggered appointment times to help maintain social distancing. On arrival you will see hand sanitiser and 2-metre floor markings on approach to the service desk, where there are contactless key drop off points.

We ask all service customers to ensure there are no personal items left in the car before dropping off, to help maintain safety for our service teams.

Sales appointments.
We ask you to arrive at the time of your appointment, as we stagger appointment times to help maintain social distancing. We would also expect customers to be wearing a face covering on entrance.

To limit the number of people within the showroom at any one time we are also asking customers to bring a maximum of one other person with them during the appointment.

On arrival there will be hand sanitiser and directional signage on the floors. Our sales teams will also be wearing a face mask and will be adhering to the 2-metre distancing rule.

 

Test Drives.

All test drive appointments are to be booked in advance, this helps us prepare and sanitise the car before and after a test drive appointment.

We are offering unaccompanied test drives, with a choice of pre-defined routes between 10 and 15 minutes long.

On arrival please bring with you your Driving Licence and Passport, as we require two forms of photo ID.

 

Courtesy cars, collect and delivery.

We are currently offering service customers the ability to book a courtesy car in advance. Unfortunately, at the moment we are not offering any lifts or collect and deliveries.

We are unable at this time to offer showroom waiting appointments, this is to minimise the number of people in the showrooms at any one time to assist with social distancing.

 

Picking up your new car.

All handovers follow a social distanced experience. The car will be fully sanitised for you on collection. Paperwork can all be done before the day. 

The sales person will go through the key features at a safe 2-metre social distance. Customers can also book a live video appointment after the collection to talk through key features in more detail.

 

Cars are fully sanitised.

Cars are fully sanitised before they are handed over to the customer, whether it is a service customer car, courtesy car, test drive car or your new car on handover.

The Future Is Electric With The SKODA ENYAQ iV

The fully electric SKODA ENYAQ iV made its debut on 1st September 2020…

Live from Prague with a keen global audience waiting, SKODA unveiled their first fully electric SUV which is SKODA’s first production model based on the Volkswagen Group’s modular electrification toolkit (MEB). Let’s take a look at the main features below…

Battery, Range & Charging

The electric SUV will be available in the UK with two battery sizes; 62kWh and 82kWh. The entry level battery (62kWH) will offer up to 242 miles based on WLTP with 177bhp. The larger battery 82kWh will offer up to an impressive 316 miles on a single charge (WLTP) with 201bhp covering 0-62mph in 8.5 seconds.

There are three charging options for the ENYAQ iV; standard household charging (AC), wallbox charger and DC rapid charging. The rapid charging can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 38 minutes. There are plenty of electric vehicle apps available to find charging points near you such as Zap-Map.

Space & Interior

When comparing the MEB-based electric SUV to a standard combustion engine (petrol/diesel), you’ll notice the height difference. The batteries of the MEB are installed in the vehicle floor and overall the electrical parts take up less room so instantly there’s a lot more space on the interior. As well as this, the overhang from the front and rear is reduced. In terms of length and width, the ENYAQ iV measure 4,648 millimetres long (around 50mm shorter than the Kodiaq) and 1,877 wide.

Inside, the ENYAQ iV offers all passengers plenty of legroom still keeping with a generous boot size of 585 litres!

Specification

The specification even on the entry-level trim is very impressive. The entry level trim also known as the ENYAQ iV 60 features 19-inch Proteus alloy wheels, an infotainment system featuring a 13-inch screen, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control and keyless go.

The larger battery pack trim is also referred to as the ENYAQ iV 80 and includes chrome detailing, front parking sensors, rear-view camera, heated two-spoke leather steering wheel and an infotainment system with navigation.

All models as standard also feature road sign recognition, ambient interior lighting, multi-function leather steering wheel and Front Assist as standard.

UK Release Date & Pricing

The SKODA ENYAQ iV will be open for orders in the UK late 2020, with first deliveries arriving in Spring 2021. Prices will start from £33,450 (excluding UK Plug-in Car Grant).
