Pulman Group is proud to announce that it has extended its sponsorship of South Shields FC into a fifth season.
The partnership has driven great benefits for both parties since Pulman became the club’s official media sponsor in 2015, and has been revved up further for the 2019-20 season.
As well as continuing as the Mariners’ media sponsor, Pulman now also has its logo featured on the club’s first-team shirts after becoming its back-of-shirt sponsor.
It is further evidence of a blossoming relationship which began the same year Geoff Thompson took over as South Shields FC’s chairman and returned the club to Mariners Park after a two-year exile in Peterlee.

Pulman was one of the first companies to throw its support behind Mr Thompson’s venture and great success has followed, with the Mariners winning three successive promotions between 2015 and 2018, lifting a national trophy at Wembley and harbouring fantastic ambitions to eventually reach the English Football League (EFL).
The club also plans to continually improve its Mariners Park ground, with a planning application having recently been made to introduce a new 902-seater stand next summer. The ground’s current capacity is 3,450 and attendances average around 1,500.
The club submitted its application to South Tyneside Council in September 2019 for a number of reasons, but primarily to improve the matchday experience of supporters and satisfy a greater demand for tickets.
The Mariners’ long-term challenge is to make it to the EFL and its ground plans centre around ensuring Mariners Park is ready to host Football League matches.
As well as the additional stand, plans have also been submitted for the club to build a multi-purpose sports hall and hub which would support the local community and wider public.
The club now has new strips with Pulman Volkswagen on the back of the shirts.
Pulman Group recently visited the club for their latest photo and video shoot with the first-team players in their new strips.
Joining Pulman and the club were Alan Hewson (Alan Hewson Photography) and Callum Parkinson (The Social Co.), who filmed a behind-the-scenes short video of the afternoon.
Two key Volkswagen models were taken to the shoot from Pulman, the Volkswagen e-Golf and the Volkswagen T-Cross SUV.
These models were selected as they highlight the future of Volkswagen, with electric and crossover SUVs becoming firm favourites in drivers’ new car choices.
Fingers crossed too that South Shields FC will be the firm favourites to win the Northern Premier League Premier Division this season!
